The Four Thoughts are the four contemplations that turn the mind towards meaningfulness. Reflecting upon the preciousness of our human life, the reality of impermanence, the ineluctable law of cause and effect and the unsatisfactoriness of going round in circles helps us acquire a deeper understanding of reality and to distinguish what is trivial from what is essential.
